Im Verlauf des gestrigen Abends haben die verbliebenen Entwickler von Heroes of the Storm nach langer Zeit endlich mal wieder einen kommenden neuen Patch auf ihren öffentlichen Testserver aufgespielt. Gleichzeitig damit veröffentlichte das Team dann netterweise auch noch offizielle PTR Patchnotes zu diesem Patch auf ihrer Communityseite, die wie üblich ganz genau auflisten, was für Auswirkungen dieses Update auf das Spiel haben wird.

Laut diesen Patchnotes zeichnet sich dieser Patch neben einigen Fehlerbehebungen und mehreren kleineren Balanceänderungen hauptsächlich durch insgesamt fünf umfangreiche Reworks für ausgewählte Helden aus. Diese größeren Umgestaltungen sind dabei dann für Kleiner, Valla, Anduin, Johanna und Raynor bestimmt und sollten jeweils dafür sorgen, dass die bisherige Spielweise dieser leicht schwächelnden Helden etwas aufgewertet wird. Our next Heroes of the Storm patch has just hit the Public Test Realm and will be available for playtesting until May 17, PDT. As always, if you encounter any bugs during your PTR play sessions, please stop by the PTR Bug Report forum to let us know about your experiences.

Developer Comment: We are constantly looking for ways of improving the player experience. This update should help players in Storm League find whom they are looking for. Common terms across the MOBA Genre have been added to many heroes allowing players to search for things like Double Soak, Sustain, Escape, Camps, Burst, Mage, Stun, CC, etc. Please give the ones listed a try and others you may think of. You may find it comes up with something you expect. Remember that if you need an alphabetical return you will need to have the Alphabetical flag turned on.

      • New Functionality: Flash Heal heals for an additional 130 over 5 seconds. The duration of this heal is refreshed each time Anduin hits an enemy Hero with a Basic Attack.

Developer Comment: Anduin has a wealth of effective talents, but most of them were stuck in the later talent tiers. We’d like to shake that up and let him have some fun earlier in the game.

Developer Comment: It’s been a while since we really dove deep into Johanna’s Talent Tree and her incoming cosplay skin gave us a good chance to do just that. On top of that, we are experimenting with a new Loan style Talent type and would love to hear your guys’ feedback on them!

        • Loan: Increase the damage of Give ‘Em Some Pepper by an additional 60%. Every death reduces this bonus by 15%.

      • Reduce your Death Timer to 30 seconds. Upon death, cast Hyperion towards the nearest enemy Hero.


Developer Comment: While Jimmy had a pretty large overhaul a while back, we definitely had some more room to make things more interesting and fun. We wanted to make sure that he was still pretty straight forward to play, but we wanted to inject more fun into his Talent Tree, especially his Level 20’s.


Heroes Rework: Stitches


  • Hook [Q]
    • Additional Functionality: Upon reaching level 13, Hook’s range is increased by 40%.
  • Slam [W]
    • Cooldown increased from 7 to 8 seconds.
    • Inner area Slow duration increased from 1.5 to 2 seconds.
    • No longer deals additional damage to Minions, Mercenaries, and Monsters.
  • Vile Gas [Trait Passive]
    • New Functionality:
      • Enemies hit by Basic Attacks or the inner area of Slam are afflicted with Vile Gas, dealing 27 damage over 3 seconds. Deals 150% increased damage to Minions, Mercenaries, and Monsters.
    • New Active Functionality – Shambling Horror:
      • Activate to spread Vile Gas to nearby enemies every second and prevent Stitches’ Movement Speed from being reduced below by 110% for 5 seconds.

    • Patchwork Creation [W]
      • New Functionality:
        • Gain 3 Armor for each enemy afflicted by Vile Gas, doubled while Shambling Horror is active. This effect stacks up to 8 times.
        • Passive: Gain 15% increased healing received.
    • Savor the Flavor [E]
      • New Functionality:
        • Quest: Hitting a Hero with Devour increases Stitches’ health regeneration by 1.5 and the damage of Vile Gas by 2%, stacking up to 100 times.
    • Hungry for More [Passive]

        • Passive: Gain 5% Movement Speed.
        • Quest: Gathering a Regeneration Globe increases Stitches’ maximum health by 30.

      • Activating Shambling Horror grants you Unstoppable for 3 seconds.
      • Passive: Reduce Shambling Horror’s cooldown by 20 seconds.


Developer Comment: Our favorite large lad is back and hungrier than ever! We’re giving our best beefy boi a new baseline ability called Shambling Horror that should help him saunter in and out of combat a bit more consistently. This ability, combined with a plethora of new and reworked talents, should make his immediate presence more dangerous. We’ve also decided to bake in the benefits of the old Fishing Hook talent at level 13. This talent was simply too fun and effective to the point where it became impossible to design reasonable alternatives. We hope the totality of these changes will breathe new un-life into a Hero that has fallen out of favor over the years.

        • Loan: Gain 20% increased Attack Speed. Every death reduces this bonus by 5%.
        • Quest: Every 50 Basic Attacks against enemy Heroes, increase your damage per Hatred stack by 1%, up to 5%.

      • New Functionality: Vault no longer has a Mana cost. Vaulting instantly refreshes the cooldown of Hungering Arrow.

      • New Functionality: Increase the range of Multishot by 20%. It launches 3 grenades that deal bonus damage and restore 25 Mana when hitting enemy Heroes.
    • Death Dealer [E]
      • Added Functionality: Lower the cooldown of Vault by 5 seconds. Increase the damage bonus of Vault from 50 to 150%. If the target dies within 1.5 seconds, refund 50 Mana and refresh the cooldown on Vault.
  • Level 7
    • Monster Hunter [Q]
      • Moved from Level 1.
      • No longer reduces the Mana cost of Hungering Arrow.
    • Frost Shot [Q/W]
      • Moved from Level 16.
      • New Functionality: Enemies hit by Multishot are Slowed by 20% for 2.5 seconds. Hungering Arrow deals 25% more damage to Slowed enemies.
    • Hot Pursuit [Trait]
      • Moved from Level 1.
      • New Functionality: Increase the Movement Speed bonus per Hatred stack to 2.5%.
  • Level 13
    • Siphoning Arrow [Q]
      • Renamed to ‘Siphoning Arrows’.

        • Every Hero hit by Hungering Arrow heals Valla for 4% of her maximum Health.

      • New Functionality: While at max Hatred Multishot’s cooldown refreshes 50% faster.

      • New Functionality: While at max Hatred, all damage you deal is increased by 10%.

        • Hitting an enemy Hero with Strafe increases its duration by .125 seconds.
        • Passive: While Strafing, throw out piercing bolts that deal 34 damage and heal for 25% of their damage dealt.

        • Basic Attacks against enemy Heroes reduce the cooldown of Rain of Vengeance by 5 seconds.
        • Passive: Every stack of Hatred grants 2% Attack Speed. When at max Hatred, gain an additional 30% Attack Speed.
    • Farflight Quiver [Trait]
      • New Functionality: Gain 20% Basic Attack range. At max Hatred, increase this by an additional 30%.

      • Gain 2 additional charges of Vault. Vaulting drops 3 Caltrops.


Developer Comment: Our resident Demon Hunter has one of the most diverse Talent Trees in the game, so our main goal with these changes were to inject some new cross-synergies and brighten up the design of some of her blander talents. As with the other reworks, we are testing a new Loan Talent, so please send us your feedback on them!

Developer Comment: Mei is still slightly overperforming at all levels of play, so she gets a boop from the nerf stick.

Developer Comment: D.Va’s Mech is still slightly more powerful than we’d like, and it’s giving D.Va the edge over other Heroes before considering her capabilities with Self-Destruct and Pilot mode. She also has some talents with some suffering pick rates that we hope are now more attractive.

    • Changed Functionality: Damage bonus from Rage now only applies to Heroic targets.

Developer Comment: Hogger is inching closer towards what we feel is a healthy state of balance, but the PvE efficacy that Hogg Wild offers is still keeping him above many other Bruisers. We think increasing the baseline damage and re-focusing the Rage bonuses towards PvP only will help in this regard.

      • Healing from damage dealt reduced from 100% to 60%.


Developer Comment: Sonya has been overperforming, so she is getting a sizable decrease in strength. We’re trying something a little different with Shattered Ground by separating its existing benefits based on its target, and we hope this change is more interesting than simply numerically reducing its bonus.

      • Additional Functionality: Reduce the cooldown of Longboat Raid by 30 seconds.


Developer Comment: Previously, The Lost Vikings had received a significant buff to their base stats to assist in their adjustment to experience globes. The Lost Viking players have since adapted wonderfully, so we’re halving the impact of that buff, while assisting a few weaker talents.

      • New Functionality: Increase the duration of Amp It Up by 1 second. While Amp It Up is active, enemy Heroes hit with Soundwave or Push-Off increase it’s duration by an additional .3 seconds.

    • Mixing Fire [R2]
      • Damage dealt reduced from 225 to 160.
      • Cost and cooldown reduction reduced from 50% to 30%.


Developer Comment: Lucio has become a dominant force in the hands of skilled players. We’re happy we’ve been able to make High Five a competitive option, and so we’re simply targeting Lucio’s personal survivability. We’ve yet to get players to play their Boomboxes, but we’ll keep trying.

      • Additional Functionality: Sets Devotion Armor for both allied Heroes and Uther to 50.


Developer Comment: We don’t dislike Uther being capable of playing a frontline role, but we do believe he’s doing so a little too freely. This should make it a little more expensive for Uther to rush into danger.

      • Demon Warrior damage bonus reduced from 100 to 75%.

    • Siegebreaker [R1]
      • Damage bonus reduced from 50 to 40%.
    • Pride [Q]
      • Damage bonus increased from 100 to 125.


Developer Comment: Azmodan’s PvE-centric talents are proving a little stronger than we’d like for how easy they are to execute on, so we’re shaving off a little bit of power across the board and greatly reducing the cast range of Demonic Invasion. We’re also normalizing Globe of Annihilation’s level scaling since his Q builds are underperforming at most levels of play.

    • Lightning Rod now uses a custom range indicator.

      • Hammerang damage bonus per stack increased from 0.2% to 0.4%.
    • Dishonorable Discharge [W]
      • Lightning Rod cooldown reduction reduced from 3 to 2 seconds.
      • Lightning Rod damage bonus per stack decreased from 1% to .75%, maximum bonus remains 75%.
      • Changed Functionality: Takedowns resetting Lightning Rod’s cooldown now gained on quest completion.
  • Level 13
    • Thunderstrikes [W]
      • Damage bonus per stack increased from 20% to 25%.
      • Changed Functionality: Thunderstrikes‘ damage bonus no longer affects other Lightning Rod bonuses.


Developer Comment: Falstad’s last changes have certainly shocked the Nexus, unfortunately in part due to some regrettable bugs. With some tuning to keep him grounded, and a new coat of paint, Falstad is ready for his next flight.

    • Channel duration reduced from .75 to .6875 seconds.

      • Changed Functionality: Tassadar gains 10% increased Movement Speed. Casting Shock Ray increases this bonus to 30% for 3 seconds.

    • Beam Alignment [Q]
      • Mana cost reduction increased from 10 to 15.
      • Additional Functionality: While Resonance Beam is fully charged, Shock Ray’s Slow duration is increased to 4 seconds.
  • Level 13
    • Shadow Walk [Active]
      • Armor increased from 25 to 35.


Developer Comment: Tassadar’s Q build is underperforming at higher levels of play, so we’re bumping him up slightly in that regard. The reduction in channel duration doesn’t change how quickly the beam begins to travel, and instead just allows Tassadar to act sooner.


Bug Fixes

    • Crowd Surfer no longer causes spells queued after Powerslide to be cast without an animation.
  • Rexxar
    • Casting Misha, Charge! and Misha Focus! at the same time will no longer occasionally cancel the ability.
  • Uther
    • Tyr’s Deliverance no longer increases Uther’s Holy Light self Healing.
