In der vergangenen Nacht haben die Verantwortlichen von Activision Blizzard offiziell durch eine Pressemitteilung angekündigt, dass sie in der Zukunft neben Activision Publishing und dem Entwicklerstudio Blizzard Entertainment auch noch eine dritte Abteilung betreiben möchten, die sich dann komplett auf den Bereich des „eSports“ konzentrieren wird. Als Leiter des Ganzen soll dann der ehemalige CEO von ESPN „Steve Bornstein“ fungieren, während „Mike Sepso“ als Mitgründer von „MLG“ die Rolle des Vizepräsidenten einnimmt.

Leider gibt es derzeit noch keine genauen Informationen darüberm was für Arbeit diese Abteilung in der Zukunft dann tatsächlich für Activision Blizzard leisten soll. Die Möglichkeiten reichen dabei allerdings von der Ausrichtung und Unterstützung der bisherigen eSports Events dieser Firma bis zu der Organisation einer eigenen Liga mit vielen verschiedenen Titeln. Weitere Informationen zu dieser Abteilung werden wir dann vermutlich in der Zukunft erhalten.
