Im Verlauf des gestrigen Tages wurde auf der der offiziellen Internetseite der am vergangenen Wochenende veranstalteten Blizzcon 2016 ein weiterer neuer Blogeintrag veröffentlicht, der die Spielerschaft noch einmal darüber in Kenntnis setzen sollte, welche Teams und Top-Spieler eigentlich die auf dieser Spielemesse durchgeführten Weltmeisterschaften der verschiedenen Titel von Blizzard Entertainment gewonnen haben. Dabei beinhaltet diese Übersicht zusätzlich zu den Namen und kurzen Beschreibungen der Sieger für jedes dieser Events dann auch noch jeweils einen Link, der daran interessierte Personen zu weiteren Blogeinträgen der Entwickler mit noch mehr Informationen zu dem Ablauf der ausgewählten Weltmeisterschaft führt.

 

 

StarCraft II World Championship Series Global Finals:

In the 2016 WCS Global Finals for StarCraft II, we saw Byun follow up his impressive GSL championship as a team-less free agent with an unforgettable WCS Global Championship run. With the most diverse cast of players in the tournament’s history competing at this year’s finals, every match was a must-watch.

 

 

Hearthstone World Championship:

For the first time in the history of the Hearthstone World Championship, two players from Europe squared off against one another in the Grand Finals at BlizzCon. In a tense series, Russia’s Pavel defeated his Ukrainian opponent DrHippi 4-2 to claim the title of 2016 Hearthstone World Champion.

 

 

 

Heroes of the Storm Fall Championship:

  • Sieger: Ballistix Gaming

Ballistix Gaming from Korea took home the Fall Championship trophy after a grueling final series with Sweden’s Fnatic, who had just taken down the favorites, MVP Black, in the semifinals. Incredibly, Ballistix dropped only two battlegrounds over the course of the event. 

 

 

 

World of Warcraft Arena World Championship:

  • Sieger: Splyce

In perhaps the most epic WoW Arena Grand Finals match to ever take place on the BlizzCon stage, the defending champions Splyce bested Method NA in a nerve-wrecking 7-game series, becoming the first team to ever win back-to-back titles. 

 

 

Overwatch World Cup:

With dominant performance after dominant performance, South Korea became the first winners of the Overwatch World Cup in front of a packed BlizzCon arena. Besting tournament heavyweights USA, Sweden, and Russia en route to the final, South Korea didn’t drop a single game. 

 

 

Esports Champions Crowned at BlizzCon 2016

Amongst countless other highlights, BlizzCon 2016 will be remembered for its Sombra-hacked opening ceremony, for the incredible creativity that was on display throughout the community contests, and of course, for you—the legions of passionate players who celebrated our 25-year anniversary with us in Anaheim and online. Our tenth BlizzCon celebration will also be remembered for the culmination of five distinct esports championships, with a combined prize pool of $2,750,000.

Months after they set out on their competitive journeys in search of esports glory, competitors from all over the world traveled to the Anaheim Convention Center to do battle at BlizzCon. Now that the dust has settled and the champions have been crowned, please join us in congratulating them on their epic achievements.
